First MF&TVV Updated For September 2016
Mood:
celebratory
For the first time in 2 months, a good 49 years to the day The Monkees entered its second season on NBC with "It's A Nice Place To Visit..." (a.k.a. "The Monkees In Mexico"), and on the very eve of the official 50th anniversary of The Monkees' television series World Premiere on The National Broadcasting Company, The Monkees Film & TV Vault bursts back onto the scene with a flurry of updates! (Oh, my laptop is back to 100%, by the way.)
A new, color, better-quality version of the "Monday Night On NBC" ad is added to The Monkees' First Season Episode Index. Several slight adjustments have been made to the Synopsis potion of several Monkees episode pages, with more to come. And to honor 50 Revolutions Per Monkee, The Featured MonkeesEpisode Of The Week is, appropriately, the very first, the Emmy-winning “The Royal Flush” (prod. #4701, aired on NBC September 12, 1966 and May 8, 1967)...yep, that's right, a good 5 decades to the very day it first aired.
This coming Monkee Monday, and every Monkee Monday for the next couple of years, will coincide with original airings of Monkees episodes on NBC...and each one will be a 50th Anniversary of said airing! So, instead of alternating each week with featuring each episode from its two seasons, The Monkees Film & TV Vault will showcase each episode one by one, to honor its Golden Anniversary, very slowly over 2 years representing the full original run, first-run andrepeat, even through The Monkees Film & TV Vault's 20th Anniversary year in 2017. All holiday-themed pages (Halloween, Christmas, etc.) will be put on hold.
So here's to 50 Revolutions Per Monkee...and here's to 50 more. And 50 more after that.
