With extreme thanks to Melanie Mitchell, author of Monkee Magic: a Book about a TV Show about a Band, two more Final Draft script dates have been added, to "I Was A 99-lb. Weakling" (a.k.a. "Physical Culture") and "Hillbilly Honeymoon" (a.k.a. "Double Barrel Shotgun Wedding"). Also, another Final Draft script date has been found and added, to "The Monkees Marooned".
Attention! To those with scripts of these episodes of The Monkees in their collection, I seek to add Final Draft dates (Revised or otherwise) of the remaining following: "The Monkee's Paw" (#4740), "The Monkees Christmas Show" (a.k.a. "The Christmas Story") (#4746), “The Monkees On Tour” (#4753), "The Card-Carrying Red Shoes" (#4766), "The Monstrous Monkee Mash" (#4767), and "The Monkees In Paris" (a.k.a. "The Paris Show") (#4771).
My recent acquisition of Andrew Sandoval's Revised Edition of The Monkees: The Day-By-Day Story has a intense effect on this evening's updates:
Final Draft script dates (Revised or not) have been added to “The Success Story”, “The Monkees A La Carte”, “One Man Shy” (a.k.a. "Peter And The Debutante"), “Dance, Monkee, Dance”, “Too Many Girls” (a.k.a. "Davy And Fern"), “I Was A Teenage Monster”, “The Monkees In The Ring”, “The Monkees At The Circus”, “The Monkees A La Mode”, “Monkee Mother”, “The Monkees On The Line”, “The Monkees Get Out More Dirt”, “The Monkees In Manhattan” (a.k.a “The Monkees Manhattan Style”), "A Coffin Too Frequent", "Hitting The High Seas", "The Monkees In Texas", "The Monkees Blow Their Minds" and HEAD.
Extra Filming Dates have been added to “Here Come The Monkees” (Original Pilot Film), "Some Like It Lukewarm" (a.k.a. "The Band Contest"), "The Monkees Blow Their Minds" and "Mijacogeo" (a.k.a. "The Frodis Caper").
And finally, Production Notes are updated in “Here Come The Monkees” (Original Pilot Film) and "A Coffin Too Frequent".
Episode No. 2, “Monkee See, Monkee Die” (prod. #4705, aired on NBC September 19, 1966 and May 1, 1967), is The Featured Monkees Episode Of The Week.
Episode No. 33, "It's A Nice Place To Visit..." (a.k.a. "The Monkees In Mexico") (prod. #4752, aired on NBC September 11 and December 18, 1967), the series' second (and final) season opener, is this week's Featured Monkees Episode.
It's a Pleasant Valley Sunday to undo all Pleasant Valley Sundays!!
This particular Pleasant Valley Sunday marks the fifty-fifth anniversary of the day when a certain Beatles-infuenced comedy-fantasy series from Raybert/Screen Gems TV Productions called The Monkees hit the airwaves for the first time In Living Color on The NBC Television Network. And to honor 55 Revolutions Per Monkee, The Featured Monkees Episode Of The Week is, appropriately, the episode which launched the series' original run, the Emmy-winning “The Royal Flush” (prod. #4701, aired on NBC September 12, 1966 and May 8, 1967)...yep, that's right, a good 55 years to the very day it first aired.
So here's to 55 Revolutions Per Monkee...and here's to 55 more. And 55 more after that..
After a week of no updates due to a natural disaster (Huirricane Ida!!!), Episode No. 49, "The Monkees Watch Their Feet" (a.k.a. "Micky And The Outer Space Creatures") (prod. #4743, aired on NBC January 15 and September 9, 1968), is this week's Featured Monkees Episode, to observe its relelecast finishing The Monkees' originl run on NBC 53 years ago this week, and to reflect the weekly changing of the Featured Monkees Episode from Monkee Monday back to Pleasant Valley Sunday.
Also, The Monkees' FETV--Family Entertainment Television Showtime chart on the front page is now removed, as its 4-year run in repeats on FETV ran its course as of Saturday, August 28, 2021.
